two logins?

I like to keep P2P programs and web servers running on a separate machine 24/7. Could that machine be logged in with your VPN software 24/7 and then periodically could I then log in via the portable ap whist at hotspots'/friends', etc. simultaneously? Or is your service limited to one login at one time.

Such a limitation is reasonable no doubt, but I thought I'd ask the question anyway.
